All these gremlins- What the hell is this now? How well do you know an fc??

Ok, a few small problems, few bigger ones. The most pressing is this mixup with vacuum lines, I think it may be making my car run rough when its cold- I pulled the boost sensor line off and my car ran better, making me believe I am running far too rich. I get some stumbling ONLY OCCASIONALLY when I hit 3-4K, usually only when cold- the first 5 minutes of my ride to work. So THEN I see I have a line from under the UIM and it plugs into my LIM by the exhaust pipe and split air pipe..

You see the line coming from my split-air pipe was blocked off with a bolt and where I think it goes (only place it could go) is taken by a loose vacuum line (maybe left over from removing the OMP??) BTW, the line in the foreground is the one from under my UIM and it goes to the vacuum actuator (or right next to it) closest to the firewall on the LIM. What is the configuration here?

Then, I would like to know what this hose is coming from my LIM to the underside of my car and seemingly goes no where..any help? couldn't find it in the haynes manual..

Then, the other day, this was just sitting in my floorboard on the passengers side- any ideas where it came from and what it is?

Finally- what do you guys think of these rims?

Anyhow, if you need any more pictures I will get them, but I would really like to fix this rough-running problem. BTW, I have an exhaust leak in my muffler (the next thing to get swapped now) if this makes these problems easier to diagnose- also my variable resistor may be broken, it will spin freely both ways (could cause it to run rich?) so if anyone has a spare that would be awesome. I cannot find one anywhere. Thanks guys!

The piece in your hand looks like a clip which helps to hold the defroster grills/vents in place at the top of the dash close to the windshield. Over time the vents can crack and the broken pieces will eventually find there way to the floorpan.

I hope that's what this is, it looked electrical in nature..I questioned if had even come from the rex, but it had blue plastic on it still..

First picture is for the aux port operation on a S4 non turbo, it is where the aux port actuators get their pickup from the split air pipe and air pump/exhaust.
2nd picture is of the ACV vent/Dump line. It should just be venting to the air under the car
3rd picture is hard to tell, but probably a clip for the dash
4th picture looks like they are autozone wheel covers and not actual wheels- (I know they are actual wheels- but they don't do a thing for me.

Thanks for the help icemark- you are invaluable to the forums! Yet these are 'motegi racing' rims, saw em new for 1200, got em used for 300 with yokohama paradas 205/40/ZR17s on it- I know I know, I need 225/40s or 205/45s for my speedo so no flaming...anyhow-

So the split air pip vacuum line goes to the aux ports- so I have a line just flopping around coming from under my UIM from the back that WAS going to the aux ports and it has vacuum on it...the one in the foreground on pic 1 that is currently going to the aux port nipple- maybe one problem eh?
You think this will solve my cold running issues? Most probably the 3.5/4k stumble...

But where the hell does this other line come from?? And where did it go?? That concerns me...

And what about my broken variable resistor- what problems will this cause and how can I fix them?
Thanks!

Stumble is from poor grounds on the engine in most cases.

I'd probably get out that manual and see what the line runs too... if you can figure out one end, it should be pretty easy to trace.

Well, the bitch is that the only end I can see was obviously not in the correct place, and the line is new, so there are no memories in it to help figure out where it should go. Right now I have it plugged, how many nipples are there under the UIM and how many would be attached to my OMP circuit? The line has vacuum on it when the engine is running so the hidden end must be attached to the manifold..
