CO All stock S5 TII+ 3'' downipe+boost control=happy boosting?

Well, I have this sweet downpipe collecting dust and I have not wanted to install it yet, due to fear of the overboost demon...

I guess I can circumvent this by using a boost controller, but is this really necessary?

boost controllers only raise boost... they can't lower it.

what's the rest of the exhaust/intake like?

The exhaust and intake are 100% stock.

Dam, I forgot about that, I guess I can port the wastegate to help prevent boot spikes.

pro-tip: Spray paint the gate flapper so you can see how much area you can safely port.

You'll creep. Free-flowing intake and DP is a nightmare on the stock turbo. My waste gate is ported and still can't handle it. I'd almost rather take the stock unit without worrying of spiking

just a downpipe won't cause much creep, deleting the cat will.

interesting read as I was curious: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati...l-dump-921634/

Ben, you even made an appearance in this thread haha.

I have been concerned about creep myself, and am in a similar situation where I have very little vested into my stock setup, and have highly considered the praised t04b hybrid (bnr) vs spending the "big bucks" on a turblown t3 manifold and gt35r setup.

I notice though that alot of people running a full 3" with HF cat and ported wastegate on the S5 version near stockish levels do not need to worry as much about it?

I've been fighting boost creep on my S5 BNR stage 2 (ported wastegate) with a 3" intake and 3" racingbeat exhaust forever...

I'm finally hoping to solve it with a divorced wastegate downpipe:

Much easier than the above thread^

I have another custom divorced wastegate downpipe I bought off a forum member for sale on the forum if anyone is interested...

more food for thought in this thread:

https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati...-turbo-330481/

I just like an external wastegate.
