There's an old saying in racing: Fast, Cheap, Reliable, pick any two. You won't get a good car for cheap, sure you could possibly make it fast, but to finish first you must first finish, so that's not a good option. The thing is that racing is expensive, even at amature levels, if you do it on the cheap it'll either be slow or it'll break all the time and end up being expensive in the end due to all the repairs.

WoW, this thread has shot way off target and I"m not helping. Drifting isn't so bad but Drag racing is just a plain waste of time.

I suggest spending some money on suspension and tires, power is no good if you cant stick to the pavement. I dont need to hear another 'local boy loses life in canyon racing' report in my local news. Wait I dont mind that, I would mind a report that would go 'innocent bystanders killed by street drifting idiots'

Oh yeah, keep it off the streets, take it to the track.
True duals is gay, prove that it works against conventional exhaust knowledge before its recommended.

Drifting was fun before all the civic owners sold their cars to buy 240's and 86's. Now anyone who has enjoyed drifting for the past five years is lumped in with these douchebags who do it on the highways and kill people.

Man no doubt this thread is gone, but I'll try and bring it back. If you want all motor drifting than do it. Forget what all the others say about drifting being gay...yadadada if you enjoy it then do it. If you dont enjoy it then don't do it - it's as simple as that.

Now, I have an NA that I take to the track and drift and hardly anything is done to it. The only thing I did was put some crappy KYB Gr-2's on it and tein springs, and I take it out there like that. I'm not great at it but I've gotten pretty good over the course of 10 months or so. I'm gonna keep going and going. There is also a guy who goes to these events and drifts a Open Diff. FC better than half the guys on here with their turbos and what not.....It can be done cheaply and I'm a broke college student who can prove it.
