Just curious.
None of my Canadian rx7's have had (funtional?) shift lights (79, 88gxl, 90gxl)
Also, my 88 (that I remember) and my 90 don't have any sort of buzzer that goes off when the coolant light comes on, or when I rev to redline.
However, a Canadian 10ae I drove a while ago had the buzzer for redline.

both cars have coolant and over-rev buzzers, maybe your buzzer is somehow damaged/missing?

more like my car has been malfunctioning for the passed 4 months... and i didnt even get a chance to finish the breakin period.

My 91 NA doesn't have a shift light, buth 86 my buddy used to have does (it actually helped me learn to drive a stick back in the day)

The above statement that S4's had them an S5's didn't is probably on the money.

Cdn 10th ani here, no shift light, but a well used buzzer.

The shift light only works when the green, and green/white wires from the 5 speed tranny are connected. If you have the shift light and want to disable it, clip one of the wires.
Every 5 speed I've seen has the light, it just may not work.

my 90 n/a had a buzzer, no light... or maybe it did, but when redlining, i was never looking at the tach....

My former 88 GXL has no Shift Up Light and no Buzzer. To say the least, It's not working. This the only thing not functionable besides It's driver.

No shift light, but in its place is a much needed triangular hazard indicator.

Only manual tranny US spec 86-88 FCs came with the shift up light stock (and of course a few Porsches and other cars)

No, its all US spec manual tranny 86-88 RX-7s. Turbo or not, coupe or not.

And for all the Canadians that keep posting... no the Canadian cars didn't get it. They are not US Spec. Not a single Canadian one got it.
