Man oh man oh man... was my car freaking loud with the Sebring race exhausts and the header. Straight 2.5" piping all the way back... Some guy with an 89' who had a header and N-1 couldn't believe how much louder mine was than his. While we were reving - he said he could hear my exhaust over his big time. Too bad I had to take it off. I got 4 modified exhaust tickets in the last 10 months :P Now i'm using the stock T2 exhausts. It's slower now...ya....but at least I can accelerate without worrying about another ticket. lol

BlackFC_NYC will be buying the system though, and since his car is turbo it should be less noisy than mine was.

In the Victoria British catalog for this month they offer 2 Pacesetter headers. One with a collected flange, and one with a dual/uncollected flange.

Sure, use the Bonez, presilencer, but TURN IT AROUND! They come from the factory with the silncing louvers pointing backwards for most flow, but the don't silence ANYTHING!!! The race pipe is actually LOUDER than the stock pipe w/gutted cats!!! Trust me!
SO, cut the silencer out, and turing it around so the "cups" inside are fowards. It will be quieter(a must when running headers!) but you will lose about 1 gerbil-power.

This the exact set-up I am running right now, with the RB cat back. It sounds really mean. Under normal driving conditions it has a great bass tone, and sounds just wicked at WOT. All I have to do is get some pipe and flange welded to the main cat and I will be able to do a quick swap when it's inspection time. Yes, it is loud!!

I can't believe I missed this thread...

Ok I have the RB header, pre silencer and a Greddy Power Extreme. I found that thing for 400 bucks =). Ok, with my setup I pull hard in 1st all the way to 8k, 2nd till 7.5k 3rd to 8k and I dunno in 4th. (I am over 120 before 7k in 4th) I gotta say it is way too loud. my car sitting at idle is louder than a 1000 watt infinity sound system. I used a DB meter and I hit a constant 98 db at idle, my friend's system was hitting 92 inside the car. The chainsaw from hell sound is sometimes cool but with my setup it goes from nice and deep to street bike rev sound right at 3k. In neutral I can hit 110 db from revving. If I can get the meter out when I am getting on it I am sure I'll hit 150db. For example yesterday I was chasing my friend jim (has 89 lude with catback) we got stuck behind a winnebago thing, he passes it, I wait like 5 seconds then pass. He tells me that all he could hear was my car even though his was maxxed out. I estimate my sonic death area to be about 20 cars all the way around, and the 'what could that be? area" to like 2 miles.

LOL who needs a system...

I will probably be going with a header to 2.5" pipe to 14" magnaflow single. Its kinda loud already tho with the stock tub.

What is the difference between racing beat streetable and race headers?? Big $$ difference.

The streetable header is collected and has the fitting for the O2 sensor attached. The race headers are uncollected and don't have the O2 sensor fitting welded in.

erik,

your car is mad pimp with those volks. make it not only mad pimp but silly loud. im running a pacesetter headers and it has its unique road presense when it gets revved. you dont know what it is, but u know it is either a weedwhacker or a rotary! das ryte! my o2 sensor is right up by the header flange... i assume thats where the racin beat one is too. with an n1 like i have it is a blast. i have run it straight thru exhaust no silencer for about 1 month and also with a cat for about 1 month. the cat i run is like 2.25 inch so i loose much power. with a straight thru exhaust with no presilencer it is loud and it is fast on the freeway. keep the revs up and my car felt like a bullet on rubber.

scottt
