Alternator is out or you broke the belt.

The same thing happened to me when my voltage regulator died.

That happened to me without even turning on the engine in an RX-7... all fuses were okay... couldn't figure it out.. Could it be a low-voltage scenario? I typically associate votage reg failures as being high-voltage scenarios.

ALL Warning Lights On - ANY IDEAS?

This just happened to me in a non-turbo '91. All Warning Lights came on, and the voltmeter dropped to 12.0, so I figured the alternator was shot, pulled it out, had it tested, and I was right. Installed the replacement (had it tested first!), fired it up, ran it around the block, OK!. . . . .took it out 2 hrs later, and the same thing happened. . . . .all warning lights on, and the alternator quits charging. After studying the wiring digram, it looks like the Ignition Switch is a likely culprit, but they're $100, and I hate to keep shotgunning parts into the beast. ANY IDEAS?

For anybody Interested. . . . The outcome was this. . . .The Replacement Alternator was bad. I had the replacement bench tested before I left the parts store, and they had said it was OK. . . .The replacement then gave me trouble. I went back and had them test it on the car, and it was only putting out 1 amp. I replaced the replacement, and all is well.
