alarms

I was loooking to get an alarm that interupts my ignition, and I saw that they had some at Circuit City. I was thinking of going there becasue I don't really feel like doing it myself, as I spent this weekend fixing electrcal gremlins in our TR6 and MGB. Anyways, has anyone had an experiece with an alarm such as this http://www.circuitcity.com/detail.js...rk_1&oid=62183 Oh, it's an 87' GXL.

The Rattler is a very entry level system. Only a step up from the old current sensing all in one alarms.

What are you trying to protect?? the car from being stolen? contents? just scare the neighbor kids?

That alarm is good for just scarying the neighbor hood kids, but will not provide you with many options additional security.

well, it turned out that it costs $100 to install it , so I said screw it and got a Black Widow at Best Buy and had it installed. Does anyone know how to keep one of those permantely disarmed? If I disarm it, it will automatically arm itself after 30 sec, and if you open the door, it will arm itself after 30sec. also. Is there anyway to keep it disarmed so I can wash it, and work on it?

Thats called passive arming, look in the owners manual and see if you can disable passive arming.
