Alarm on the fritz
I just got my alarm working and whenever i lock the car up and the alarm turns on it will go off randomly sometime within the first 2 minutes. It doesnt do it when tap on the car, it will only do it on its own (and of course trying to open the door without a key normally). This is the factory alarm by the way. Any help would be great!
Also i was wondering what the littlle 1/8" hole with a grate over it (located right in front of the sunroof controls) does. Whenever i play with it the alarm goes off too.

Download FSM (factory service manual) and follow the troubleshooting procedure. It's on www.teamfc3s.org

The sensors on the roof are only found on the Jspec limited model and the US 10th AE model.
The are an early type of Proximity sensor, based on ultrasonics. They are very very prone to falsing if any windows or the roof are left open.
If the car is sealed up tight, but it is still false triggering, then you will need to check the interior door switch latches (the lock/unlock levers on the inside of the car). These tend to get gummed up with people sliming the doors (more on leather doors than cloth), but any dirt build up can jam them up. Cleaning the switch part with some mild tuner cleaner usually fixes it, but stay away from the dreaded sperm of the devil, called WD-40.
