Alarm Beepers

Performed the cold solder fix on the clock this past weekend. I tried to use the de-soldering tool, however it did not seem to want to work, and I ended up just using the braid to get the old solder off. After applying some flux the re-soldering went well on all 17 contact points. Clock now works on both day and night settings.

I have some errant beeps for the open door alarm. My seat belt alarm beeps correctly upon entering the car. The open door alarm problem appears to be somehow connected to the dome light. That light worked after I removed the bulb and cleaned what I could, then stopped again a few days later. I tried to fix that again and while I was working the switch back and forth the beeper came on intermittantly. The map lights work properly, but not the dome light. I do hear some beeping occasionally while working on the car and opening/closing the door.

Is this a cold solder problem somewhere else that could be corrected?

Sounds like the CPU needs re-soldering.

BTW the trick with a solder sucker is to use it in your strong hand (left hand if your left handed, right hand if you are right handed), and hold it at a 90 degree angle right above the solder iron, and drop it right over the solder joint as soon as it melts and the soldering iron has been removed.
