I couldn't find a replacement either. I had to look on Craigslist and the forum to see if anyone had one that wasn't broken.

I am in the same boat, was doing some other work and got ECU code 11 when it was put back together. Mazda discontinued the part, they are nowhere to be found it seems.

Since this topic has come up it's a good opportunity to share some of the testing procedures I saved for this sensor. From the FSM:

Now if one were to find a sensor with similar resistance readings (I'm sure there is one out there) then you could replace it and the stock ECU should be happy. The likelihood of finding a drop-in replacement (same threads and same connector) is low though, so some other modifications may be required.

Good news though, as far as I can tell this sensor is only used for a minor correction to BAC valve duty. Meaning that it actually isn't necessary for 99% of driving. From the training manual:

Now code 11 (S5 error code, S4 codes are different) references this sensor, but if it goes bad, it should only affect BAC function (and even then, not much). At least, that is what the training manual documentation implies.

As far as actual EFI functions, it looks like that is handled by the sensor in the Air Flow Meter:

This throws a different code.

So all this is a very roundabout way of saying that you probably don't need to worry too much if the IAT sensor on the dynamic chamber has failed. Also evidenced by my pulling the connector off and driving around, noticing no difference at all. So either my sensor is completely dead (so there is no difference at all to the ECU whether plugged in or not), or the sensor is only used for BAC related functions.

If anyone finds a compatible sensor though, I am also interested to find out. I will update here if/when I find one myself.

You don't need the oem air temp sensor. No one does. If it fails or whatever, replace it with the triumph sensor. They screw directly into the oem manifold and the pigtail for it is available at any parts store. Problem solved.

Triumph sensor screws directly into the FD UIM (which I have and use), but I don’t remember any location on the stock S4/S5 manifolds that will accommodate. The dinky little FC sensor body is much smaller than the Triumph, unless there’s another version of the sensor I’m not aware of.

I found one at a Japanese parts supply house. . . .Except when I placed the order, they canceled it because they wont ship to the US for whatever reason.

The trick will be finding somebody who will.
