Air Pump silencer (searched, coupl more q's)
I've searched about whether or not this is really important for anything other than silencing the sound when the air pump dumps the excess air when its not needed... from the searching it seems that all it does is silence the sound from the air pump, but i just wanted to make sure it has absolutely nothing to do with emissions... i mean, logically i wouldnt think it does since it just goes to vent to open air, but i wanted to make sure... thanks to anyone that can let me know

Nothing to do with emissions, but it is dumb to remove it if your car still has the air pump present. For one, it is plastic and rubber, and weighs a total of about 4lb. And it isn't even much in the way. For two, cars that "moo" on deceleration are generally looked down upon by the general population, and we wouldn't want people looking down on our cars.

yah i understand all that, but im doing everything i can for weight reduction, i mean every pound does count im up to 125 lbs off... plus, it actually is in the way, my intake has a bracket that holds it up cuz the filter is heavy, and the silencer is completely in the way when trying to take this on and off, its just an annoyance.. of course if it sounds aweful ill put it back on, im not that dumb
