Air pump silencer?

I was just told that some of the older Rx7s have an airpump silencer. I did a little bit of searching and I think it is on the second gen. Am I right? If so, whats it really called, and would anyone have a part number by any chance? A pic maybe?
Share your wisdom with me please, I am not familiar with the 2nd Gens at all. Thanks a lot in advance.

Couldn't find it in the manual except a schematic of the SECONDARY AIR INJECTION CONTROL SYSTEM, which shows it and calls it a AIR SILENCER. See this picture http://home.earthlink.net/~burntoast...xports_acv.jpg well that yellow circle in the middle that looks like Africa, down at the tip of Africa you see a one inch in diameter outlet on the acv. There will be a black hose connected to it and the hose will go fwd to a black AIRCHAMBER, and from there another black hose will disappear into the r/h bumper/fwd wheel well. You have to take off a splash guard on the fwd end of the r/h wheel well to access it. Or take the bumper off.

My bestest friend in the whole wide world took his out of his 1990 GXL and it makes a cool *** sound now when he accells... I dont think it really helped much performance wise except he lost a few grams of weight...

It would make a even cooler sound if your friend replaced the cats with presilencers, and lost the air pump all together. And it would give a BIG performance gain and almost 100 lbs. of weight reduction.

Air pump, ACV, silencer and all attached tubing. I put a rubber beaker stopper in the hole coming out of the air filter that used to lead to the air pump.

Of course I have a GSL-SE, and I've heard that you 2nd gen NA guys need the air pump for your 6PI actuators to work. Is that right?

Yep. It's just a muffler so you don't hear the hissing/whooshing sound of the air pump overflow.
