Air Pump Removal Question

well, specifically, it refers only to the pump. probably because when they manufacture a vehicle they assume people aren't going to pull off random parts and leave them off. maybe they thought the air pump was a likely candidate to be scrapped by a shade tree mechanic. and they were right *shrug*

So is it ok to remove it from a S5 Turbo???Absolutely no risk at all, right?
The oil injection will work fine,right?

No.
The "Never Remove" and "No Oiling" refer specifically to the sticker and the pump itself.
There is no end-user maintenance procedure for the pump...i.e., DO NOT OIL- ergo, do not remove the sticker and disassemble the pump trying to fix it.

One of these days I'd like to pull an air pump apart just to see what it looks like but since I DO have to pass emissions- both visual and sniff- I can't afford to be cavalier with my (so far) functional unit.
I suspect there is nothing to it and the warnings are just part of the ultra paranoid EPA emissions regs, akin to it being illegal to sell a used cat, for instance.
"Replace-don't repair", in other words.

thanks for all ur info everyone it help me alot so basically all i will need for my s4 will be the block off plate and a dual alternator pulley?? also will it hurt my s4 to remove the charcol canister??
