Air pump removal question

I just added a bonez cat replacement pipe and it kicks ***. My question is when I remove the air pump do I have to goto the dual pulley on my alternator. The guys at Rotary Performance said it is a must due to the fact that the water pump need two belt on it at high rpm's? Does anyone run just one belt or were they just trying to get me to drop $50 on a new pulley?

Yeah, you're probably going to need one. The problem is the alternator belt only wraps a short distance around the water pump pulley and has to spin the huge fan as well. If you don't have the stock fan you'll be sweet, otherwise invest in the pulley, or you'll go deaf from shrieking belts!
