So on an S5 is it necessary to hook up the airpump to the catalytic converter? I've got my airpump attached to the engine still, but I don't have the airpump connected to my exhaust. Are my 5th and 6th ports still opening up at around 3800 rpms or does that change things?

Without an airpump your car will get a flat.
