air pump Q

I know this is an old question but I can't seem to find anything useful in the archives, maybe I'm not looking hard enough?

Anyway, I wanna remove the air pump in my 87 n\a fc but I now it will not run right, is there a way to do it?

I was looking at doing this at one point but I didn't know of it not running right. For one, I think the check valve the the exhaust system is effected by doing this because it attaches to the ACV which attaches to the air pump. Racing Beat makes the block off plates for the ACV if you want to remove it as well as a block off at the cat for the check valve. I didn't think that it effects the way the car runs though.
