Anyone know if the air pump from a 13B N/A will work on the 13BT?


(yeah, i know similar question to my earlier post; now that I have only TIIs, just trying to see what n/a parts to keep around and what to give to the local tech school)

the pump outlet pipe is different and needs to be changed, meaning basically you need a TII smog pump, they are identical in every way except that pipe which on the n/a models aims right at your turbo hot side charge pipe.

what exactly do the air pumps do? ... mine was in hatch of the car when i bought it so im assumed its not needed

 

Used for emissions and is required if the catalytic converters are still a part of the exhaust for w/o the air pump the converters would burn up and become useless.
