Air Mix Motor - what's the easiest way to replace?

Air Mix Motor - what's the easiest way to replace?
I have searched and read all the threads about the air mix motor. I'm convinced mine is shot, as multiple logicons still won't make the motor turn.
Does the dash have to be pulled in order to get to that thing? Or can I get to it by removing the instrument cluster? I've pulled out as much vent-stuff as I could under the dash near the pedals, but I don't see any way of getting that thing out from the bottom.
Can anyone help?

I presume by air mix you are referring to what the FSM calls the mode control motor, mounted on the right side of heater box. The one on the left side is the temperature control motor. Supposedly the left one can be removed from underneath, but my heart goes out to anyone who has to try that. I would make triple sure that it is indeed the motor before going that route. Look in the online FSM; there is a procedure for testing the motor by applying voltages directly to the pins on the connector, with the logicon removed. If the motor responds correctly to that test, you can look elsewhere. If not, you may indeed have to replace it.
If you are talking about the mode control motor, on the right side of the center (heater)box, the first step in the FSM procedure for removing it reads: "remove instrument panel."

It's easy... I had to do it a couple weeks ago.
My heat was stuck ON in the dead of summer. It sucked ***.
Remove the driver's seat. (Really, I'm serious.) Or just lay it back all the way.
Lay down with your head up against the pedals and your feet in the hatch area or on the head rest.
Remove all the A/C ductwork that you see above the pedals..
You'll see a rod connected to the motor. It's secured to the main A/C unit with three or four screws. It is located DIRECTLY below where you removed the large cable for the Logicon.
