Man quit going for the most expensive intake system. You want to know the best intake "kit" you can buy"? Apex'i makes the best intake you can buy but I have only seen it for sale for the 89-91s. I do not know the differences in the 2 but that is the best intake. AEM is the most expensive usually, but there are prolly some more expensive ones for rx7s. I suggest you just buy the AFM adaptor and a K&N filter and just use that. Its much cheaper and easier and will do the same task. If you want it to look better then make a tube yourself and paint it whatever color you want. Thats my opinion.

The difference with the Apexi airfilter is that the opening is .5 inches too big. I think the AFM inlet is bigger on the later models.

I have to agree. Get the AFM adaptor and a K&N airfilter and you will be fine. Thats what I have and I think total for the two pieces cost me about 55 bucks. The ITS race car I crew for said that when he switched to a smaller filter, he lost nothing from the bigger filter, so you really don't need a Huge filter. I think my filter is a 5in diamter cone, 6.5in long.
