Air/intake Temp Guage??

I thought i've read about it or heard about it from somone b4 but not sure.

*is there a way or a guage u can hook up to actually read the temp of the air going into the intake, that doesn't cost a arm and a leg?

Splice into the voltage wire that connects to the AFM and rig up a cheap multimeter.

Yeah, because it's really easy to convert an inverse logarithmic relationship (temp vs. voltage) in your head while driving...

There are several ways of displaying air temps. You can buy one of those cheap IN/OUT temp displays like this:

http://www1.jaycar.co.nz/productView.asp?ID=XC0116

Or a more dedicated display (I use this one):

http://www1.jaycar.co.nz/productView.asp?ID=XC0224

These are cheap but both are battery powered and aren't backlit for night use.

For something better but more expensive:

Look around, there are other manufacturers of gauges like this.

If he's referring to air going into his engine, I could see it being useful for seeing if a cold-air setup is working.
