Air intake question
I've looked through the fsm and forum to try to find an answer on this with no luck; what are the 2 hoses that connect to the air intake tube on the bottom, and can I block them off if I've removed the emissions stuff? I'm running the engine in a dune buggy and need to direct the intake another direction and am having trouble with those connected.

I've read that I shouldn't bullock off the bac, but since I only run it during warm months and don't mind a little high idle is it OK? I want to just bend my own pipe to attach the maf and can do that if I can block those off or put a filter on them if needs be.

Has anyone ever run a turbo compression sleeve on an NA engine? I bought one and am waiting for it to come because my exhaust on the buggy comes up at the rear of the frame and with the stock one it would run right into it. With a greddy compression tube (straight one) I can have it go out the side in fron t of the exhaust and bend some tubing to have it go up so it doesn't suck in a bunch of sand. I'm not looking to gain any power (though it should flow a bit better I would think) I just need it to work well and keep from getting way hot next to the exhaust at the back. If you look at my photo album that'll give you an idea what I'm talking about, though I was running a carb setup in those pictures and am now running the stock injection.
