can u get a aftermarket air intake for an 1986 GXL???

 

Um, yea. If you were to go with K&N than you could go with a direct drop In replacement, Or If you want to go all out, like I did, than go with K&n's Filtercharger. It's a cone filter that maximizes air Intake. Howerever, a consequence to this Is It will draw In HOT air which negates your mod to begin with. I do recommend you build/buy a custom cold air box. It really I worth It.

Judging by your question, you may not be familiar with the cold air box as described. Do a search and the results should answer any questions you may have additionally.

 

all out? ha... this is a simple install and not a huge upgrade but a needed one... you can get an adapter and K&N intake for 50$... cold air boxes are great or you can do what i did... and have a cold/ram air thingy.. you will just have to look for it!
