Question Air getting into coolant, how big of a threat?

I have finally figured out all the cooling problems of my seven except for air getting into the coolant. it runs normal (i guess since I have never seen normal with my seven) and I just replaced the coolant and bled the radiator and it runs and cools good, the only thing is it spits air out after I shut it off... What will this do it time? I realize that if it is spitting air there is steam in it and I will slowly loose coolant but what kind of a time frame an I looking at here? any help would kick ***! Thanks

What is spitting air? The radiator? The Overflow tank? Air isn't really "good" or bad, I mean I guess there is a slight chance that the car could lose the cooling efficiency if it were by chance to get air trapped in the coolant jackets....however very unlikely.

The way the water pump is designed, it can't help but cavitate the coolant a bit as it's doing its job. Logically, these bubbles will find their way to the highest point of the system. Your rad cap should keep the entire system pressurized to about 15 psi above atmospheric, which makes the boiling point of the mixture much higher than the "normal" of 212*F, so during normal running, you shouldn't be getting any escaping steam (may get some after shutdown after a hard run, though).

Boy WAYNE88N/A, you like to attack my posts with just the right information. I am right now sitting at 8,000 feet above sealevel and boiling here is like 256* but yea, only after I run it does any steam come out of the overflow. I always check my coolant after my last thread and the radiator is full full no air at all at the spitter and everything checks out. Could this be the end of my overheating woes? Also, thanks GROUND ZERO I enjoy looking at your sevens on your avitar

"Attack" is a rather strong word, don't you think, lol?

You do let her cool off a bit at idle before shutdown, right? Let some cooler stuff flow into & through the housings from the rad for a bit, that kind of thing...

EH, I cant say that I do let it cool off that way, if I do it is flooded the next time I drive it. I wont worry about it, it is supposed to be 22 here tonight and 53 tomarrow, cooling is not going to be a problem, and what do you call it about the attack? You answer everything I ask on here, hell, I bet you know as much about what has been going on with my seven as I do
