Air Flow Direction not working?

Hey all,

I have an RHD S4 Rx7. I'm trying to figure out why when I push a button to change the AC airflow direction, nothing happens. As it is currently stuck on the defroster, I am trying to at least put it on face so it blows nicely.

Pushing the button, the light above it will show up. When also hitting recirculation, I can hear that it does work, as well as the AC.

Thoughts on where to look at here, and the location of the part in the car?

Thanks!

The logicons seem to break often. Resoldering the circuit board sometimes works. Buying a used one sometimes works.

If you do replace the logicon, save the old one. Someone might be able to fix it. The used parts won't last forever unless we try to recycle.

Edit: other are dependent on a good logicon, too. Other parts beyond those go bad, too.

If i recall the logicon is just the hvac control unit itself yah?

if so ill pull it out and resolder the joints there.

Thanks again

if that doesn't work i've had good luck taking the actuator apart and just cleaning it out. the few i've done were like packed with grease, which got all over the electrical connections

its on the left side of the heater box, in an RHD car you might pull out the glovebox and it might be right there?
its not actually hard to change
