Hi guys, im fitting a 13b 1988 rx7 motor into my car. Because of the shape change i need to relocate the air filter and air flow meter with some nw ducting. My question is, will this really effect my performance? With the tuned stainless exhaust (made by myself), no steering pump, and lack of cat (pre 75 UK vehicle) i should be looking at around the 180BHP mark. What do you suggest? essintially the angle at which it come off the manifold needs changing, and i should be able to keep it close to the same length...

I just need to know what type of air flow meter these use, and whether a change in intake design would effect its capabilities....

It might if you you don't se the stock mounting angle of the AFM (S4 motors use a flapper type).

 

ahhh, so really i have to use that mounting. Its a shame if can just be flipped around 180 degrees as that would be the perfect angle. better get my thinking hat on!

 

It can be mounted upside down with no problems other than looking ugly. It just needs to be mounted as level as possible.
