Air Bypass Solenoid Needed?

Guys/Gals

I was polishing my spare UIM and removed what I thought was the intercooler mounds bolt holes which are the little stubbys on top of the UIM. After which I found out that the Air Bypass Solenoid Valve attaches to this.

For some reason I think I really do not need this but have incorporated it into my FMIC.

What ill effects would I have if I removed it now? I guess it supplies bypass air into the primary intake manifold. I am running an APEXi BOV with a Greddy VSPL.

Thanks for any input.
Ian

Merry Christmas

That valve is for the AWS system. Remove it, stomp on it, cuss at it, burn it..

I looked up in my manual. The Cold Assist is something different. I will remove this to anyhow.

But the Air Bypass Solenoid is on top of the UIM is what I was wondering.

Thanks

Thats because it wasnt part of the cold start assist. It was part of the ACCELERATED WARMUP SYSTEM.
