need help in IDing this fc

description by seller:
Here's some more pics of this nice 1987 RX7. I don't know how to tell you the exact model, it's the 2 ddor hatchback with sunroof, no rear seats on this model. It's the original motor and miles, runs great, nice interior, tires, and brakes. I got it from a charity auction recently where it had been donated.

Its a base model but not the lowest since it has a sunroof. Could be an SE.

Definitely an SE. It became the "new" base model in '88 but it had a sunroof as standard. I would know because I used to have an SE.

Or just ask the seller if the steering wheel has a 2 spoke or 3 spoke wheel...

87 Base model, or 87.5 SE. Production date or wheel finish would tell for sure. Its hard to tell in those pictures, if the wheels are polished it will be a 87.5, if they are grey aluminum, then it is a 87 base.

The other thing that gives it away is that it has the manual mirrors. The 87 Luxury/GX had electric mirrors and a sunroof standard.

watch your toes, Mark is dropping knowledge again.

I spy 4 lug wheels. I'm sure that is a give away for something. Oh, and the 4 lugs are not desirable to say the least. Manual windows... makes me think SE like my first 7..... I miss that car.... stupid jeep drivers **** me off.

Remember in the USA, the Base model, the Luxury, and the SE all had 4 lug wheels.

That would be a 87.5 SE model. The cut off is # 528625, between 87 and 87.5.
