air bleeder cap neck parts number?
ok don't tell me to go ask the dealers :P cuz i just came back from there
i'm talkin about this part
http://members.shaw.ca/ahyc84/FC3S/a...dercapneck.JPG
this is the part that goes in between the air bleeder cap and the thermostat housing.
they told me they're going to need my VIN cuz there's 2 parts number for this part, which is the right one for my car depends on the VIN.....
N323-15-17Y
N326-15-17YA
well....here's the real problem. my engine is a Jspec engine running on the N332 ECU, which is for a 87 turbo jspec engine. My engine's VIN wouldn't work for their system....
so does any actual guru on this board know which one to order? or if it really matters?

Look at the parts microfiece for a particular year. If it has a tube sticking out then it's the other number you want. eg. On www.Mazdamotorsports.com
To be honest it doesn't matter too much which one you get. One is like the picture, the other is like the picture with a plastic tube sticking out of it (slightly different moulding). If you happened to end up with that peice you can simply fill the hole in with epoxy. You could also try looking at a local junkyard.

Hey, does yours have a bypass fitting?
It doesn't look like in the pic.
Some of the FC's have a sprung cap with a bypass fitting into the overflow reservior.
This is probably why they want your VIN...dumbasses.
If this is NOT the one with the bypass fitting, then I'd highly suggest you get the 1993 - 1995 FD one.
They are ALUMINUM and will probably outlast your car!

ok just for people to know, the one i posted before, this is the parts number for the replacement one
N323-15-17Y
i took a chance with the cheaper one, and it turned out to be the right now. I guess it's the revised version or something, cuz this one is made out of aluminum
