Air bag light blinks off and on, 90 vert
Hello Folks! My 90 vert has the air bag light blinking off and on continously. The engine light is NOT on and I am getting no codes. I have unplugged the battery and reset the ECU but it still occurs. Any ideas on what this might be?
Thanks for the help!

Slightly of topic but....
It amazes me that mazda, to meet federal safety standards in the 90+ vert, installed airbags instead of a roll bar. The freaking miata came with a roll bar but mazda's flagship sports car didn't. Stupid IMHO.

I have tried the connectors, changed the fuse, and still blinking. After I pulled the fuse out and put back in the light for the airbag stayed on, no blinking. When I started it back up, it went back into the blinking mode. It blinks 6 times, then stops for a second, then same again. Any more ideas.

The standard that needed to be meet was for Supplemental Restraint Systems. Since people weren't buckling their seatbelts, mister GOVT had to step in to save peoples lives somewhow. This began the era of mouse-belts until airbags could be more widely utilized. Addign a roll bar would have done nothing to meet the "safety standards."

Miatas did not come with a roll bar. I dunno where you got that from.

You won't find the pages I showed above online. You need the actual book.
Go through Steps 1-5 from the photos 2-3 above.
Might want to download the S5 Wiring Diagrams to help better trace wires. You can find them from here ---> http://jared.webhop.net/RX-7/S5%20Wiring%20Diagrams.pdf
It's a slow download. Be patient. My bandwidth sucks.

I have this problem as well in both my S5 Verts. After I've been driving the car for about 15 minutes and everything is well warmed up, I've noticed that if I turn the key off and back on the flashing goes away. That makes me think some either some component in the airbag brain is getting weak or, as FC3S91 said, some connection is just barely making contact.
fake roll bars.. They were for looks.. They would not save your life if the car rolled over.. Trust me haaa at least the Car my Uncle has. It was a yellow vert.. the more rare type
OP: apologies for the hijack.
I followed the procedures above in the FSM posted by Jpk3200 and the brake light is no longer on or blinking. Thank you for the post and I appreciate all the help. You da man!
