aip pump question/ looked at other threads
I have a s4 7. I bought that bonez race pipe. I no longer need the air pump or sap. So can I just remove the air pump and sap and leave the acv on with no problems.
Thanks
Thanks
If it's an S4 like you say, you can ditch both the air pump and the ACV. The aux. ports activate from exhaust back pressure, so as long as you keep that tube hooked up, you should fine.
I've done this myself, and my ports work fine, with with a fairly free-flowing exhaust.

I just want to get rid of just the air pump and sap I dont want to take the time to take the acv off. I was asking if it I could take out the air pump, blockff the hose that went to the acv from the air pump, and unplug the acv.

Racing beat sells an ACV block off plate for 6$ or you can get the entire kit from K2rd for $35 ish... when you decide to venture deeper... under your intake manifold's.
Just remove the air pump, unplug the sensors going to your ACV, block off useing a proper plate and remember to hood up the aux port from the bonez race pipe
good luck

Go ahead and take off the ACV too. It's worth the 30 minutes it will take you to remove and seal it off. It makes it easier to work on your car and mysteriously my 2.5-3k idle problems dissappeared and I went to a 750. related? I couldn't say, but what could it hurt to remove it?
what is that hose that is on the front of the acv and goes down towards the front of the car. Also do I have to cap off that little hose that goes to that sensor (the Mitsubishi thing) You only plug it off on a turbo right?
What I want to know is why noise and some air pressure comes out of my ACV (removed airpump and all ACV hoses.) It is somewhat quieter when I cover the bungs with my hands... what air passages are connected to this thing that will let air out? What's the best way to plug it until I get a block off plate?
Too late by one minute to edit my last post. Damn this board.
Anyway, I dug through the FSM and it looks like the front port is venting exhaust gas. Not cool, looks like I'll need a block of plate sooner then expected.
Any quick and easy ways to plug it temporarily? I wanted to get it on a dyno again within the week, but I don't want it dumping exhaust into the engine bay.
