This ain't cool...

OK, my 87 T][ failed e-check (Ohio emissions testing), by a lot. I was more than double the hydrocarbons and like triple the CO2. Whenever the car is running or just after a hot run, you can smell gas ever so faintly. Is there a way to check the pulsation dampener without taking off the IC, the manifold, etc.? Also, it has some running problems. So, I figure I'm goin to take the $300 route. If you spend $300 on emissions related equipment and still fail, they give you a "pass" voucher. So, what are the biggest new injectors I can slap in with a stack car/computer. I plan to add more boost and nitrous later on, so I'll need the bigger injectors anyway. Can I put them in now and just run a little rich? Also, would an 89 GSL Primary fuel rail be compatable with my T][? I know where one sits and the guy is givin' me killer prices (the rear tail-light assemblies were only $35 each - will buy those in a week anyway) and I want to know if I can just get rid of my pulsation dampener that way. Thanks for any and all help/insight.

Just a thought. I wandered over to the 1st generation site a day or so ago and read a post that told how this guy failed smog, went home and nearly emptyed his fuel tank, put I believe methonal in there, went back for the insp and passed with flying colors. Just a thought.
