Thumbs up AHHHHH! Rebuilding help please... quick one!

Hi,

Ok I've got this damn 13b almost done.... the housings are all together and now I'm torquing down the tension bolts. Everything seems good, the motor turns real nice and all. After I torque down the bolts it doesnt' turn so nice. It turns with too much effort then kinda gets stuck. What is the problem?

your advice would be much appreciated

are you sure you have the apex seal springs in properly? one of them hanging up could be responsible for the binding.

Take it back apart and look for scoring on the side housings. Don't force the engine to turn. Cheaper that way. Possible triangular end piece is digging into the side housing.

Once you tourque it down it is going to be a little harder to turn but it shouldn't be binding. Take it apart again to check the apex seals.

Another thought.... Can you move the e-shaft in and out freely? It should have some play in it before you put the thrust bearings in it on the front housing. I don't think its possible to put the rotors in on the wrong side gear teeth so thats out.... Did you have the housings lapped? Maybe one of the side gears isn't fully seated? I know getting my rear gear back in straight was kind of a pain. (damn alignment pin!) just throwing some ideas out. hope it helps.

I'm gonna reopen it and check to make sure that the seals are seated in correctly... I thought I did everything by the book, but I must've missed something. I'm just a bit frustrated with it at the moment so I'm gonna put it off till tomorrow... ;-)
