ok, ive got an s5 engine wired into an s4 car
no 5/6 ports
no rats nest
no cats
no pulsation dampener
wired vdi (open)
no air pump

ok so i wired my vdi open and now in first and second gear t acts like usual, but third through fifth the rpms crawl up, i have trouble getting over 75-80 with out really trying
i hit a brick wall at 60 mph, and then it went avay, it just crawls tho.

can get up hills great, exaust isnt extra hot (so i dont think its a blown rotor or the extra gas would go right into it and heat it up.
what do ya think? i dont think its blown personally, i think something just isnt workin right

 

pull ur dipstick- does ur oil smell like gas?

try unwiring your ports- everything go back to working the way it was?

I had that problem;

1) My TPS was misadjusted
2) My VDI clip came off

 

i have no 6th port sleeves, i took em out.

 

any other ideas? how bout really crappy timing? or a secondary injecor not firing. im wasting gas like its free tho so im thinking timing

 

It's gotta be something else... If your timing was off, you'd feel it everywhere--whether starting, idling, crusing etc... If it's your sec. inj. not firing--you wouldn't be able to really go past 4k RPM's or whatever.

I can't really help you, but I can tell you that it's likely not timing or the injectors.

Are there any weird noises, vibrations etc.? There's nothing else wrong aside from the fact that you can't go over a certain MPH?

 

it backfires a bit on idle and when shifting, and i suck gas down. first and second rev nicely, but 3+ just rev real slow, think im just not getting enough fuel, or too little backpressure?

 

That just *sounds* unusual to me. Yeah... Check the timing. The fact that your backfiring at an idle? That's not cool

 

oh, hey i have a horrid header leak, and the intake is right there! i bet thats it, what do you think. bad air = no power and wasted gas!
