aftermarket tps?

Does anyone know if it's possible to get an aftermarket tps, for my 88 turbo II? mazda in australia want $350, for what I understand to basically be a variable resistor...

You are pretty much forced to buy the Mazda one. Unless you want to go to all the trouble of making up one of your own...

I'm so missing something... it didn't look like there was much hope based on any reading I'd done previously, but I didn't think a question could hurt... I've been working on my car for all of 3 days, so still have a fair bit to learn. I'm unable to tell by looking at a tps that there's not going to be an aftermarket replacement, if that's what you meant

You are pretty much stuck with Mazda parts for the 90% of the car. Even simple things like thermostats and pressure caps are best bought from the dealer (must be OEM parts)...

Things that you CAN replace are usually the expensive ones: intake (ofcourse, but still need the AFM), exhaust, turbo (along with manifold, fuel pump, injectors and management), etc etc....

Even the frigging spark plugs are one-of-a-kind
