Aftermarket Radio questions. Please help.

I have had my new head unit installed for 6 months, but i didn't know what to do about the antenna hook up. so now i want radio instead of listening to CDs all the time. The guys at the local stero shop said that even though there is 2 antenna jacks, you can just plug one in and have radio. But that didn't work. Can anyone help me out here?

Read the FAQ, it has a diagram on how to hook up a relay to get the attenna to work with an after market radio, thats if your attenna still works

Unfortunately your stereo shop forgot to tell you that even though you have two antenna hook ups only one is going to work. You need to plug in the one that will fit into the head unit, the long pointy one, what can be dubbed the male end. You will also need to search for teh next hard part. THe stock antenna will NOT operate properly without a relay to get it to go up again.
