Arrow aftermarket intakes

Does anyone have anyidea why there is no aftermarket replacement for the black rubber intake on the fc? I was told its because rotary engines shake alot and it would bang the strut tower but mine seems fine and i dont see my rotarys shaking more than any piston engine i own. It just puzzles me why there are replacements for every fvcking car on the road, even family cars and vans but non for a performance oriented vehicle like the fc.

That isn't what he is talking about.

To answer his question, I find it somewhat odd as well. On the other hand the engine does shake more than piston engines. Some first gens shake even more because they have their motor mounts on the front and back of the engine. Also I think the FC gets looked over alot in the aftermarket simply because of its age.

I would spend the extra $ for a well designed 'AEM style' intake kit.

Yea, im talking about an aftermarket aluminim replacement for the black rubber ducting leadign to the airbox. I seen them for older cars as well, every place ive asked either had no idea or said its because they shake too much.

if you search for the custom CAI in the forum, some members replaced that rubber piece you're talking about

I'll do the search, but along the lines of the OG question. Is that flange on the front of the MAF custom or manuf? Where/who/what/price please? That's a damn clean setup.

Thanks!

I offered one up. No one bought into the group buy and they bitched about the price. With a customer like that what do you expect from big companies? not much....

LoL, the FC group has a a tendency to be poor and bitch about price for ANYTHING on our car.

Also, we like to make things ourself.

The adapter on the front AFM can be bought, www.rx7.com has them for sell with a filter.

I know but I WAS INDEED offering them for 100 dollars less than the next company which is now out of business IIRC. I would think 100 dollars lower than the other guy would help. Guess not

If you can get someone to fab one (use the aluminum piece off an re motor if possible) you can get one made like mine. I don't have pics of it on the car but here's what I made so far. Pretty expensive if you dont weld al. yourself though. I could make you one anyway you like. Hope its some help

I'll post some pics of it installed as soon as possible. I have an old digital cam and it uses floppys. My floppy drive isn't working. BTW when I made that one I didn't know about the part that mounts to the tb so I had to machine one from scratch. Sorry about the order of the pics. It was an after thought

I Did. There is a link in my sig to my site with pics of the original which was pretty ghetto lookin compared to the ones I ended up making later on. Every now and then I get a guy wanting one but its almost always impossible to get more than one guy wanting one.

Considering you are in texas and my city and address have been posted on this forum many times you could drive down and kill me if I scamed you. Otherwise you can check all the good feedback I have on this forum. I'm not a no-name punk with 1 post. I've been on here for what? a couple of years now and have many people that are friends on here and a few even know me personally. I also use a protected means of payment, Paypal, which protects both the buyer and the seller. The only reason I don't make the CAI's actively is that people aren't willing to buy in large numbers(read more than 5-6 at a time) thats all.

It would be about $250 cdn +shipping. If you go to my profile there's a pic of my shop. I do this stuff at home. I've got a tig welder and access to a complete fabricating shop. I make just about anything you want custom. Headers, shrouds(for e-fans) exhaust, assorted covers, cai boxes. If you're seriously interested pm me. I'll try to get my floppy dr. fixed so I can download more pics.
