I was just wondering if aftermarket gauges you buy light up at night or what? Thanks.

 

Do you mean guage faces or external guages (like autometer) ? I have both and yes both light up. Autometer uses small bulbs that you can chance the color on. The are not backlit, rather the light comes all around the edges. Same goes for my Corksport guage faces. Not really bright, but still very readable. My autometer guages (5 of them) are all lit with blue lights while i changed the bulbs in my dash to light up BMW red. Looks cool to me. Hope this helps

Ya I meant external gauges, but didn't know that the corksport gauges didn't light up too well.

 

the corksport guages light up fine when on full brightness, just not as bright as before, have slight "shadowing" effect. I dont really care about it though, fine for me.

Do all the external ones light up, light GReddy and Apex'i? I am looking into the GReddy EGT gauge and maybe just a temp gauge too to be safe.

 

i think they all do,,unless they are very cheap,,the only one of mine without a light is my a/f ratio gauge,,and that is becuse it works better in the dark(LED's)

 

Oh boy, if you're never seen aftermarket gauges that are truly backlit through the face at night, you're in for a treat.

The majority of Japan gauge are backlit through the face.

Autometer doesn't do this...

ya the autometer lights suck. My greddy kicks ***! I think the apexi is even better, but never seen one.
