I do willfully ignore current reality because it's already been done a certain way for so long that the conversation gets boring... but I wouldn't want to hi-jack someone else's thread with non-related ranting.

If I was dealing with a basically stock FC on the cheap, then replacing the stock shroud, clutch fan & related ducting would be easy & simple for a novice. If I had access to Free/Cheap electric fans & related components like a proper controller/thermostat - then an e-fan might make more sense. If I was dealing with a modded/upgrade situation then I might need some room in the engine bay & use would an E-fan by necessity.

The Cost of Failure is Very High for a Rotary when the Cooling System takes a Dump, so doing nothing is worse then waiting. What may seem like a minor over-heating episode can cause various troubles that might require an engine tear-down.
