Aftermarket Alarm. Door actuator wiring?
Hey guys
putting in a door actuator on my drivers side door. I am a little lost on the wiring part. A few questions:
1. What type out actuator do I need 2 wire or 5 wire
2. Is there a method where I could splice into the wiring on the passenger side rather than the 2 relay method I figure if I could tap into the exisiting wiring it would make my life a look easier.
3. Is there a way to disarm my stock alarm while my after market arm is on?
Thanks in advance

Okay I think I got the rational down let me know what you think:
1. There is an actuator on the passenger side that mimics the locking mechanism on the drivers side
2. If I put in an aftermarket actuator on the drivers side and connect that directly to the alarm. Then whenever I lock or unlock using the alarm the passenger side should do the same.
Does this make sense?

You got it absolutely right.
However, I'd get a stock actuator from a wrecking yard drivers side door and reverse bend the mounting bracket and actuator arm. The holes are already there for the 10MM bolts so it will mount EXACTLEY where needed so the actuator throw is exactly right. Geting the throw right is the primary challenge in this applicatoin.
Same two wires for connecting to the alarm.
