Exclamation Afterburn / Hesitation / Pinging - The Works....

Lets see if i can get any other helpful idea's....

basically it's getting kold as hell out right now and the car's being parked soon, but i'd like to get a few things fixed before....

lets start with these:

Mods:

- S4 Block with S5 Externals
- 3" Racing Beat Turbo-Back Exhaust
- Blitz SS BOV
- Coilovers ( Tein rear, Ground Control front )
- Centerforce Dual-Friction clutch
- HKS PFC F-Con
- HKS GCC
- Knights Turbo-Timer
- Knights FCD
- FD Flywheel
- JDM Brake Balancer
- Stainless-Steel Braded Brake Lines
- Autometer boost and A/F guages
- MazdaSpeed steering wheel
- MazdaSpeed racing pedels
- Manaray 6spoke 16" rims
- K&N Filter on 3Inch TID
- Yokohama AVS ES100 Z-Rated rubber
- Greddy ProfecB SpecII Boost controller
- Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
- SAFC-II ( Need Install )
- Greddy Vspec FMIC
- MSD 8.5cm Race-Wires
- Megan Strut-Tower Bar
- Denso 720cc Secondary's

as a few of you know i've posted many threads in the past, but driving my car 2dayz ago, was currious....

around 4000rpm where i had my hesitation i noticed at either WOT or light throttle it hesitates.... i passed a car exactly when it did this and it sounded as if my car was shooting crazy flames, just like afterburn just very constant if i try to accelerate, it hesitates no matter what then eventually goes....

then in the higher RPM it knocks and pings, although the car was dyno tuned....

at half throttle i can hit 10psi and all no prob, but if i go WOT it knocks and pings around 6000rpm, it happened once in 5th at 3700rpm'ish aswell....

any other idea's?... i'll be spending hours on friday under the hood of my car trying to get this problem solved, any help would be greatly appreciated....

thanx guys....

Try and add more fuel on the top end to see if this fixes the problem?

The dyno cannot fully mimic the loads seen on the road.
This is why I road tune as the final test to see how well it's mapped.

You're not alone.
I just picked up a high rev with high boost mis-fire last week, and it's getting worse.
I can drive to work fine on low boost.
This weekend I'll be checking fuel pump voltage & fuel pressure.

You may have to adjust the timing. That will atleast stop the knocking and pinging.

ok, just got back from driving the car....

i popped the hood and revved it at the TB and listened to the engine....

sounded very strong and great, but near redline there was a whirring almost light chirping noise....

it was from the front of the motor so it would have been a pully or belt, anything really....

for a clear mind set, if it was anything to worry about it would do it all the time wouldnt it....

man i am paranoid....

I used to have all these problems. Then I got rid of that dumb ECU and SAFC combination, and I have never had them since.

You had to remind me...

The ECU is not so much dumb as it is stubborn.
At least with the Renesis you can re-flash it.
Maybe in a few years someone will reverse engineer the RX-8 ECU so us unwashed masses can tweak it.

Maybe it's just too simple, but did you check the basic stuff? Grounds, TPS?
