After Market Stereo power loss

I'm sure that someone has posted something like this before, but the search is completely useless.

Ok, now, after the better part of 6 hours yesterday, I finnally got my CD player installed, rear speakers custome installed, front speakers installed, and I rewired all the speakers with new wiring. I have never done this before, so it was quite a challenge.

So after I finally got everything done, it all worked great! Sounded nice (needs some subs though) and played without problems. After driving it around for an hour or so, it suddenly turned off, then flicked on and off for a while, playing for a minute before dying again. Then it just stopped, and wouldn't come back on. Dishearted, I retured home.

This morning it worked just fine, for the 15 minutes I listened to it, but after work, it wouldn't even come on.

Is this a problem with the CD Player? Or is there an electrical problem in the car that I can fix.

Thanks,
Alex

is the cd player after market? did you ground to the body and not to the wires? is your alternator and body electrical dieing also? did you RECHECK THE WIRES? did you make sure to take out and disconnect the old amps/wires? sounds like a power problem.

I say one of your power wires to the cd deck is loose.

Aye, definately sounds like a short. make sure all your connections are good and tight and you don't have any loose wires. If there are some wires you aren't using cap them off so they don't short against the back of the deck or the sides of console.

Thanks A lot guys. It was a really sinmple fix. The skrew that attached the Stereo's ground wire to the rest of the car had become stripped, causing a short. Appreciate the help.
