pretty decent light and accurate..electric but not "real easy" to hook up.the Instructions are funky.
I hooked them up to light up blue, they can be red.

Got prosport evos too. Weren't too bad on instructions. Wish the plug wires were thicker gauge but not really a problem make sure to have tgem in shade or in cups because they tend to be gard to see if sun hits too hard. Though this could be solved in my car by tinting rear screen or moving tgem from where I mounted them.

I can second VDO. Tons of street rod guys use VDO, Dakota Digital, and Autometer.

The only thing about mechanical gauges that I Hate personally is having to run hot liquid through a tube into the cabin.
When I first started out with an FC,I got a leak at the Mechanical oil gauge and it wasn't noticeable until it created quite the Freakin MESS inside the whole dash area where the gauge was mounted.
That, my friend,is Why I went Electrical!

Why, both.

I too prefer electric to mechanical.
Even if there is an accuracy difference, would it really be relevant/significant?

Were I to chose higher end gauges, they'd be Speedhuts for sure.

Those VDOs are nice, but I've got to give it to Prosport on this one too. The Prosport Premiums I had provided one of the best matching colors to the stock amber/orange that I've seen other than those really old HKS gauges. Plenty accurate as well and very reasonably priced. The next car I build is definitely going to be using them again.

Here's a shot of them... I couldn't find a night shot and it was a cell-phone cam, the gauges look pretty bright but oh well.
