After flywheel/clucth install when car starts in gear , it lunges forward
i can start the car in neutral but when i put the clutch in all the way i cant put the car in gear. when i start the car in 1st the car takes off by itself. i bled the clutch but the slave cylinder piston was fully extended. like it wont touch the fork. i tried pulling the fork forward but it wont go.
is it my worst nightmare and did i install the clutch disc backwards or is there something else wrong?? btw i put the thicker side(the tyhicker side with the springs ) facing toward the rear end . any help ???

well i felt around the fork and the piston wasnt even hitting the fork.. well fixing that i figuired that i had all my problems solved . well to no avail problem still there.. im thinking that the shifter somehow got tweaked.. i pulled it out and the centering spring was all the way to the right ,, i couldnt see it .
and i checked with the manual .. i installed the clutch disc right .. so what else could be doing this ??

1) you sure the fork arm is installed correctly on the tranny front cover pivot, with the spring also installed correctly?
2) how loose is the fork (without the slave pushing on it)? you shouldn't be able to wiggle it around too much, or be able to push it aft much before it hits the pressure plate springs
3) it's almost impossible to install the disk backwards- it'll hit the flywheel before it seats down flush
4) how does the clutch pedal feel? any resistance past about 1/2 travel?
5) when you bolted down the pressure plate, did you notice the "fingers" being forced downwards as the bolts were tightened?

1. im pretty sure that the fork was installed correctly .. had some nice springy action when i put it back
2. the fork is tight . i cant really move it by hand.
3. yeah i found that out after re reading the manual
4. the clutch is kinda weak .. ive bled it many times. and hasnt really improved
5. i didnt notice the pressure plate fingers moving at all .. i did at first .,. but i didnt have the flywheel seated the whole way down .. i took it off and reseated the flywheel and i put the pressure plate on it seemed to go on even and freely
im still lost.. i might just have to bite the bullet , take it down again and check everything again

You took the flywheel off? I can imagine what a PITA that would be to reinstall & torque correctly with the engine in the car...you sure the E-shaft key didn't get jammed up in there, preventing the flywheel from seating? Also, how are you bleeding the slave? I'd make sure the hydraulics aren't the prob before the tranny comes back out...

nah the flywheel was pretty easy .. i was careful of the e shaft.
for the bleeding . i have a friend pumping the clutch.. then holding it to the floor. i pop the bleeder and let it shoot out . once its done i close the bleeder.
also when i start it keep the clutch completly to the floor, start the car in first the car takes off ,, even with the clucth completly pressed to the floor

All right, so you're feeling the resistance of a "normal" clutch pedal, but the clutch isn't disengaging with the pedal to the floor, right?...If your friend is still around get him to push the pedal while you're looking at the slave piston- it should extend about an inch while maintaining contact with the fork...If that looks good, pull the tranny, and take a good look at the "ball" that the fork arm pivots on- it's part of the tranny front cover; when it wears out the fork arm gets funky while pushing the throwout bearing & can cause your symptoms...
