Just like the title says. I acquired this 87 RX7 Turbo II w/108,000 original miles from my mom this past February, sitting at her house for almost 8 years. It died on her in 2000. Since then my mom's boyfriend was trying to work on it and could never figured out how to get it started. So he calls me and ask me if I would want it for free! HELL YEAh. So I towed it home, did a compression check, compression is fine, put a new fuel pump, new plugs and wires, changed out the old fuel-put in new fuel, new fuel filter, working CAS, new trailing and leading coils, and tried starting it up......NOTHING. So I decided to ask around on the forum here, and they gave me good advice. But still couldn't get it started. So I stopped working on it for almost 2 mos. Well my friend acquired a ECU from another RX7 turbo and I installed it today.....first try.....turned over then died. I put back the intercooler and it stayed running, while white smoke is coming out of the back. Unbelieveable I acutally got this car running after 8 years and all it needed was another ECU. Cuz the other one went bad. And man, the car sounds good. But other than that it overheats right now, I just installed a new thermostat. So hopefully tomorrow, weather permitting I will be washing and vacuuming her up and get new tabs. Thanks for reading guys.
