AFM readings kinda wierd...

Hey guys, I'm testing out all the components I can as I'm taking 'em off the car during my rebuild. Got to the AFM and read it out per FSM, everything there was good...Just for ***** I read out Vref to Vs, which is the "wiper arm" going across the potentiometer as the door moves (for some reason that specific test is not in the FSM)...Resistance with door closed was 105 ohms, and increased as the door was opened slowly. As the reading increased to about 600 ohms (door about 1/3 opened), it then fell, and cycled between about 250-600 ohms slowly as the door continued to the full open position. It did not fall to zero, which would be expected if it hit a "dead spot" on the pot. Still, the readings seem unorthodox for a variable voltage input to the ECU...If anybody happens to have a KNOWN good one sitting around, or maybe you have your intake box off on the car (so you can push the door in), please read yours out and post results. Don't know if the S5 AFM's are the same, but if they are you S5 guys are welcome to join in...Looking at the plug on the AFM (connector removed), use the middle and second from the aft end pins (small alligator clips help tremendously)...Thanks guys...

It's normal. Ask Ted. He seems to know a thing or two about this subject. Maybe Icemark or Henrik also.bump
