AFM Interchangeablility????
Guys,
I have an 88TII that ,yesterday, had its AFM crash. I have another AFM that I'm using. The only issue with it is that the little Denso part number sticker is missing, so i don't know for sure if it's correct. I've placed it on the car and rev'd it to 7000 with no breakup. My questions are;
1. Does the little stamping in the casting (just below where the Denso sticker normally sits) denote if its a turbo AFM?
2. What AFM's can be used as an alternative?
I have a track event tomorrow, so obviously the car needs to be completed this afternoon/evening.
TIA,
~Mike

u can use a afm from a s4 na it will work just run a lil lean not to bad though. s5 has to have s5 though otherwise u wilkl run into throttle idle issues. the difference in the na n t2 is the resistence. if it runs with it u should be fine. i have been runnin a na on t2 swap for over a year now. im just runnin into the problem of the s5 t2 motor with the s4 na afm now in my newest rebuild

well rested,buffet o food
89-93 miata will work too, a little more lean than na though, i have been told. Do research though because i am not 100%.
I do know that the na rx7 afm is a popular upgrade on custom turbo miatas.

Thanks, guys. I'm assuming when you say it's safe to use an NA AFM is I can take this AFM to the track, correct? I have the Rtek ems, so I can see what the AFR's are doing. Any thoughts?
