AFM and fuel pump switch

got my afm out and am testing it , and i noticed in the FSM that with the flapper anywhere but fully open the fuel pump switch is open, but when it is fully open its closed,.. does this mean if the flapper ever goes to its full positon it shuts of the fuel pump?? and if so why? am i just reading it wrong?

reading it wrong. with the flapper door shut, the fuel circuit is open, so the fuel pump wont dump fuel into the engine when its not running.

when the door sucked open by the engine vacuum it closes the circuit.

The AFM safety switch cuts the fuel pump if there's no airflow. This stops fuel being pumped out of broken fuel lines after a crash.
