You make it seem like I contradicted myself, which I did not, just used different words to say essentially the same thing. Way to be a positive contribution pal! You are wasted space. I am done with you. All I was trying to do was point out that what he has done is not an untested ghetto mod like most people seem to think

As for plates requiring cutting, maybe not those but I have seen plenty of installs that do require cutting. Maybe some other cars I guess. Anyways it is nothing new to cut a car.

Thanks for your attempts to embaress me though, very nice!!!
Hmm. Are you talking about the Mazda RX7 Performance Handbook by Mike Ancas? If so, I can't find any reference to slotting the mounting holes. He seems to be suggesting the use of adjustable camber plates. (pg 41)
I don't read Hot4's, so I don't know about them, but I have the GRM article for their Project TurboII (Grassroots Motorsports, August 1988) and they recommended rotating the shock absorber's (eccentric) top rubber mounting block. They also suggest assembling everything while pulling out on the bottom of the wheel and pushing in on the top for about a degree of neg camber total. Have they changed their approach since then? I can't imagine any serious publication advocating slotting strut mounts. It seems to me that they would open themselves up to some serious lawsuits .

well since I am at work I can't find the page in the Mike Ancas book. Hot 4's is a mojor publication from Australia, I beleive Racing beat actually sells back issues. Do a search and you will find that I am not the only person who has heard of race cars doing this. Some classes don't allow plates but allow for cutting.

Don't think I am disputing the GRM article, this is just a different way of acieving camber. Everything they say is right on.

I did some searching and found an offhand reference to slotting the mounts, but no info on results. Can you show me any references where the idea has been discussed at length or where results have been posted? I heard that this technique has been banned in SCCA competition. (I would assume for safety reasons)
