Advice for spherical Bearings???

Question Advice for spherical Bearings???

So I am trying to figure out which brand is "better" for a spherical bearing kit for my FC.

AWR or MMR?


Bearing Kit - Rear Control Arm - 1986-1992 RX-7 - AWR Racing Store

MMR-Direct.com

Anyone have an idea of which is "better" or more reliable?

Cant tell you which is better, I just had the sleeves tack welded into place for my awr trailing arms(they suggest that).

I CAN tell you which you'll receive first, thats the awr bearings. Mine took about 2.5 weeks to show up. MMR is notorious for taking 2 months of more for ANYTHING.

Yea, MMR took about 1 1/2 months just to get me some DTSS eliminators. Didn't mind as they were the cheapest at the time and the car wasn't going anywhere anyway.

This is what the guys from mmr sent me

"Hello Nick, our spherical bearing kit comes with the complete bearing assemblies for both rear control arms. There are some differences between our kit and the AWR kit. The AWR set comes with a replacement bolt and washer set that is intended to be used to lock out the factory rear toe adjustment, while our kit retains the factory toe adjustment. I'm not sure if the AWR kit requires that it be welded to the rear control arms or if it is designed to be pressed in, but ours is pressed into the control arm and retained with a snap ring. Our bearing kit also allows for the spherical bearing itself to be replaced easily without removing the control arm or bearing housing. Thank you and if you have any other questions please feel to ask."

He is right the awr is suppose to be tack welded into place. If you need to replace the spherical bearin the awr you have to cut one side of the tack welds off and remove that sleeve and bearing...not as easy but can be done.

You do lose toe adjustability with the awrs, the cheapeast adjustable toe arms I have found are the battle version arms(RX-7 FC | | Battle Version), which also happen to be direct fit instead of requiring you to drill out the subframe and trailing arm like others.

Yea I decided to go with the AWR bearings. I have two subframes/control arms so I may actually do MMR on one and AWR on the other.
