advice on removing the ABS??

So I'm taking the ABS off my tII this weekend... can't wait. It's got a bad leak and in lieu of buying another one ($1000+!!!!!) I'm just going to take the system out. I've bought that cheap-o delet kit off of mazdatrix until I can get the time to really do it properly with new lines, hopefully sometime after this semester. So, after taking a look at the deal, the lines going to the pump are all hardlines it seems. Any advice on removing them from the pump and removing the pump itself?

Thumbs up

yea make sure you have PB blast(better than wd40) and box socket wrenches..spray the fittings let soak for half hour and they should be pretty easy to take off. you also need to remove/unplug the electrical pug which runs right down firewall by ECU. the hard lines go right into the adapter.(dont cross thread or pinch the lines). if it was leaking like mine was you prob should get some por15 and clean and paint over surface rust(down the side onto frame rail). its pretty easy but a little time consuming. Damn mazda just had to put the ABS unit by the hotside turbo and downpipe . did the exact same adapter kit thing from mazdatrix. any more ques just ask me

Adapter thing???? i wish i would have known about that! All i did on mine was rip out that big abs thinggie, rip out the computer, and put a male to male connector on two of the lines, and then used the rear brake splitter box thinggie off of another rx7 to connect the rest of the lines and AbraCadabra! it worked!

yea what he said. Mine leaked so much I have a large area to repaint. I'm also installing a front brake line lock kit from summit to give me some much needed roll help at the staging lights at the strip.

the adapter thing i was talking about is a brake splitter...exact same thing it just came brand new along with another small rubber hose with 2 fittings which connected the other to lines together...like an extension..yep the abs seems to go on all the cars. after that the abs light will come on on your idiot lights..just take it out and on the back there will be a row of snap clips..take out the small bulb out where the abs light was snap clip back in.. and if your cars are like mine i needed a brake bias conroller to control rear brake pressure...rear wanted to lock up pretty easy. summit has em
